Consultation has concluded
The Storm Drainage Master Plan (SDMP) is a technical study undertaken by a consultant on behalf of the City once every five years. The plan plays a critical role in helping City staff understand how stormwater infrastructure functions on a city-wide scale and provides guidance on prioritizing and determining the scope of storm related capital projects.
The plan looks at the following items:
Updating the city-wide storm drainage model
Identifying areas which have flooding or surface pooling above city standards/guidelines and determining how to best manage them
Reviewing the storm drainage design and construction standards
Ensuring customers are receiving the appropriate level of service by supporting and enhancing growth and development
Reviewing the impacts of previous drainage infrastructure improvements
Ensuring fiscal responsibility by creating action plans to ensure priority items are addressed in a logical sequence and creating a framework for funds to be allocated to future projects as needed
Providing recommendations for effective stormwater management in future development areas
A map showing key drainage improvements completed since the previous Storm Drainage Master Plan is available here.
