The City of Grande Prairie is developing a design to twin portions of 132 Avenue and 116 Street to support the community’s growth and future transportation needs.
As Grande Prairie continues to grow, traffic volumes are increasing, including large truck traffic. Portions of 132 Avenue and 116 Street have been identified as arterial roadways that provide important connections through the city and between Highway 43 to the north and Highway 40 to the south. The proposed twinning would expand the existing roadways to accommodate increased traffic and support a more accessible, connected and efficient transportation network.
This project is currently in the planning and design stage. Construction is not planned at this time.
