What are neighbourhood associations?
Neighbourhood associations are a registered society that is run by a volunteer-led Board of Directors and provides a unified voice and central point of contact for the community.
They provide a sense of place and belonging for residents and they advocate for community needs and initiatives.
Who can participate in a neighbourhood association?
All residents and business owners within the boundaries of each neighbourhood association may be considered a member.
Participation is free and can be as involved as sitting on the Board of Directors or as simple as coming out to a neighbourhood event.
What is the purpose of forming a neighbourhood association?
Neighbourhood associations are for people who:
Want safer communities.
Want to plan special events to create closeness and a fun place to live.
Want community programs to feel connected, and who want to participate in the planning and development of their community.
Want to create a sense of place within a community.
What are the benefits of neighbourhood associations?
Acts as an advocate for your community's needs
Provides a framework to educate, communicate and support neighbourhood initiatives
Ability to create a community garden
Ability to apply for grants and funding

Opportunity to provide feedback on future neighbourhood amenities
