Consultation has concluded
Council gave first reading to Lending Bylaw C-1396 - Loan to Swan City Hockey Association on February 25, 2019.
Council intends to go through all three readings of Bylaw C-1396 which will, upon final passage and approval, grant the Grande Prairie Storm a $200,000 loan from the City of Grande Prairie over a five year term with an interest rate of 4.25 per cent. In addition, the Storm will not have to pay rent for the 2018-2019 season and will be charged a base rent for the 2019-2020 season. The loan will come from the City's Financial Stabilization Reserve.
Unless a petition of the electors for a vote is demanded, Council may pass Bylaw C-1396 with its final reading on March 25, 2019. A copy of the proposed bylaw is available for viewing on the City's website here. Alternatively, a copy is also available for inspection at City Hall, 10205-98 Street, Grande Prairie, Alberta, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
