Jumpstart Inclusive Playground
The City of Grande Prairie has partnered with Canadian Tire to create a Jumpstart inclusive playground at Lions Park. This exciting project will bring an accessible and inclusive place place into our community, ensuring all children can experience the joy of playing together.
The playground supports the city's commitment to:
- Removing Barriers to Participate in Public Spaces
- Building an Inclusive and Caring Community
- Creating Welcoming Spaces for All Residents
Community Engagement
The following groups were engaged during the process, receiving information about the playground accessibility standards and providing input on their hopes and expectations for the playground.
- The Lions Club
- Accessibility Committee
- Highland Park Neighbourhood Association
The final inspections are complete, and the playground is ready for use.
To celebrate this exciting addition to the community, a formal grand opening event is being planned for spring 2026. This event will recognize the contribution and collaboration that made the project possible and provide an opportunity for residents to come together and enjoy the new space.
Stay connected for an official grand opening date.
