Hillside Community School - Grade 6 Student Story
When I first moved to Grande Prairie, everything looked so different. I had no idea where I was, and the only source of direction I had was my Mom. Besides, this was pretty much the first time I’d ever remember living in the City. I was so used to the country. But, as time went on, I began to warm up to the strange place. I began to recognize which street I was on, or at least the houses around me. The kids at school seemed friendly too. Everything started to become familiar, slowly but surely. I learned the houses, and the people that lived there, all the trees and their placement on the lawns and just like that this place felt more like home. The moral of the story? No matter where you move, as much as you miss your old home, there will be people who welcome you, and GP will become as familiar to you as it did to me!
